The Lake 8.14.11

If you take a look at Shane's towel, you can get some idea as to how windy it was.  It was really crazy how on our hike there was virtually no wind and then we get to the lake and it was whitecap windy!!

After lunch, the boys were content to just play by the water as both the wind and the temperature of the water were a bit on the chilly side.  Logan here is {I think} trying to be a crab.

Of course, keeping Shane out of the water is next to impossible, so it was only a matter of time until this happened....

Not to be outdone, Logan lost his shirt and fleece, donned his life jacket and proceeded to play on the beach!  :o)  {He did go in a little bit.}

Burying his hands in the warm sand.  I should have taken a picture of us girls...you could have seen how bundled up we were on this exceptionally windy day.

After our hike, we headed to a local lake that we used to camp at almost every summer growing up.  We had packed a lunch, so after eating, it was off to play in the water.  Little did we know, it was going to be crazy windy this day.  But did that stop us...heck no!  We saw windsurfers, swimmers, kite fliers, and us.  We couldn't get warm enough; however, after a bit, the boys weren't content to simply look out at the water, it was time to go in.  So, as cold as it was, they were off.  It was so fun seeing Logan play in the lake I grew up playing in.  Such fond memories made then, and now.
