Birthday Lunch 10.28.10

"Cantaloupe. Good."
Could he be any less excited?

Ah, there we go.

Since I wasn't going to be with Logan on his actual birthday, we decided to do a birthday lunch the day before after his Harvest Party. So, Logan, Mom, Dad, Grandma, and I all headed out to Red Robin for lunch. Logan (as picky as he can be when it comes to food) always cleans his plate at Red Robin and today was no different. We all had a great lunch with great food, singing, and dessert. It was a lovely way to spend the afternoon. Thanks Mom, Dad, and Grandma for sharing this day with us, oh yeah, and treating! :o) Life is good with a family as amazing as ours.

Harvest Party 10.28.10

Here comes Wolverine!
Logan's 3 eyed pumpkin.

The singers!
Wolverine, Iron Man, and Captain America AKA Logan, Luke, Craig.

Karen and I with our super heroes.

Today was Logan's Preschool Harvest Party. The kids all dressed up in their costumes, sang many wonderful songs, and we had snacks. I'm so thankful to all the teachers and helpers who make these programs possible. They work so hard all for us. Thanks to all those who day in and day out put all their efforts forth for our kids. I know Logan is walking away from this school with the best experience possible. It was a wonderful party and I look forward to the next one. Life is good.

Carving Pumpkins 10.26.10

Before...
The look Logan gives when dealing with pumpkin guts.
...After!
Norman was not impressed at all with the whole pumpkin carving extravaganza.
We were really proud of our pumpkin.

This year Logan and I got a pumpkin carving kit. I was really eager to try some of the designs that come with the kit. Then Logan tells me, he wants a happy face pumpkin, a sad face pumpkin, and a mad face pumpkin. Ummm, dookie! Anyway, after looking at some of the pictures, Logan got really excited about doing some of the pictures in the kit. So, after looking at all the choices, Logan settled on the bat. He's not a fan of helping with the gut clean out, but he was very eager to use the cutting tools. Such a little boy. Life is good with a cool looking jack o' latern.

Breakfast with Woody 10.25.10

For the past two days, Logan has been carrying Woody and Buzz around with him wherever he goes. They get tucked in with him, they play with his other toys with him, and if I let him take them in the bath, they would join him there as well. This morning Logan told me that Woody needed to have breakfast with him. It was pretty darn cute. Life is good.

Goodies 10.23.10

Ummm, Logan, it's your birthday...you're suppose to be excited.
Logan got both Buzz and Woody and they have definitely wormed their way into his heart.

He also got lots of dinosaur toys, which you can imagine made him very happy.

I love that he's old enough to know that cards come first and he tried to read them as well!

He loved this new shirt so much that he put it on as soon as I finished taking this picture.

We ended the party with cupcakes, ice cream, and presents. Thanks to everyone who helped us to celebrate this wonderful day. Much love to you all. Life is good when your little boy turns 5.

The Guests 10.23.10

Brandi and her new precious little girl, Aubrey.
Riley, Sophia, and Charlie.

Pierce aka Batman
Luke, Logan, and Craig

Jonathan and Sam

Luckily many of our friends and family were able to join us for Logan's party. He was so excited to have his friends and family to celebrate with us. Also, how lucky were we that the weather held out and the kids were all able to run around outside. With our small house, it was nice to spread out into the backyard so the kids could run around and also eat their cake and ice cream outside. Thanks everyone for helping us celebrate this great day! A specail thank you to Jonathan and Darrick...thanks for coming guys! Not many husbands/fathers attend little kid parties. You guys are my rock stars! Life is good.

T-Rex Party 10.23.10

Good thing my boy isn't overly dramatic or anything.
"This is 'ceratops. He's for girls."

My little dino boy.

Couldn't I just get one picture of a smiling birthday boy?

For Logan's 5th birthday party he asked for a T-Rex themed party and I was more than happy to oblige. So, we had dinosaurs everywhere in our house. I got these great clings and really helped set the scene. Logan was thrilled to help me put them up! Life is good when dinosaurs roam our home!

Oktoberfest 10.20.10

How much does my best friend rock? She even put up scrapbook paper to make a German flag!
Karen enjoying her beer!
Scott grilled up some delicious brats!

I'm so proud of myself that I tried sauerkraut...it's really not for me, but hey, at least I tried!

"Hooray for Oktoberfest!"

This year Karen decided that she wanted to try her hand at putting on an Oktoberfest dinner and I was more than happy to be her guinea pig! Scott grilled up some brats, Karen made German potato salad, we had hot mustard and sauerkraut and kettle chips...and, of course, beer! It was a fabulous dinner and I really think that Karen needs to make this an annual thing. :o) Right Karen? (Logan of course dinner partake in any of that...oh wait, he had some chips!) Life is good when you have good friends, good food, and good beer!

Platdate at the park 10.20.10

I told Sam I wanted to take his picture...little turkey!
I love how the sun is hitting Logan in this picture.
Pierce aka Spiderman.
Three boys looking for animals in the forest.

Sam on the run!

Kara called me up today and suggested that we meet at the park and take advantage of this unseasonably warm weather while we can and Logan and I were more than up for it! We were able to get in about an hour of good playtime while it was still light and the boys had a blast! I often forget how blessed I am to have so many amazing friends in my life. Kara, thanks for the call. It was so great seeing you and catching up! Life is good.

Logan's Sketch 10.11.10

So Logan calls me into his room the other day to show me what he has drawn. So he tells me that it says, "Logan loves Momma." He wrote his name. The portrait is of me. The thing that looks like a boomarang is a heart....and I'm melting! I had to take a picture of it because it was the most precious thing ever! Life is good when you're loved so much.

Tommy's Birthday Party 10.10.10

What a great looking cake!
It's nice to know that Tommy's facial expression as everyone is singing "Happy Birthday" is the same as Logan's. :o)
It was a long, fun day!! (Notice the green fangs in this mouth.)

After our morning at the pumpkin patch, Logan and I headed off to Tommy's birthday party. We had a great time visiting with friends, eating some delicious cake, and the kids played hard. In fact, after presents, the kids hoped the fence to go play at the school playground next door and my little Loganberry had a hard time getting over the fence and getting back over it. Ah, well, the adventures continue! Life is good when there are birthday parties to attend!

Pumpkin Patch 10.10.10

It is that time of year again...time for our pumpkin patch adventure with Mom, Kim, and Shaneo. This year we went to a different place than we usually go as Shane is getting a little big for all the kiddie stuff at our old place. With the boys being 5 and 1/2 years apart sometimes it's hard to find places and things that they both like doing, but everyone had a great time at this new patch. Their decor was awesome, their pumpkins were plentiful, their corn maze was huge, and our morning was great! Thanks Mom and Kim for joining us yet again for a fantastic pumpkin patch adventure! Life is good.

Play Time 10.7.10

My biker babe!
Logan is getting so much more confident on his bike.
Craig is a pro.
Our biker boys.

After the field trip to the pumpkin patch, we invited Karen, Craig, and Brett over for lunch and to play. We thought that we should take advantage of days that I have off. We had a great time. The boys rode bikes, ate a great lunch, and played until they were both ready to fall asleep. Thanks Karen and boys for a great afternoon of fun. Life is good when you have the day off and get to spend it with friends!!
