More Good Times...7.21.09

Riley, Brady, Tommy, Sophia, and Logan enjoying an afternoon treat.
Of course Charlie got one too!

Sweet messy, messy ice cream.

Later that day, Logan had his second playdate at a very cool park with our good friends. They kids ran and ran and ran and then Darrick treated them all to some ice cream. Life is good in the summer time.

Waterslide Extravaganza 7.21.09

Craig

The neighbor boy Hank came over and offered all the kids a ride...how fun does that look?

On a beautiful Tuesday summer afternoon, my dear friends Jason and Linda invited Logan and I and Karen and Craiger over to play on their waterslide. Logan got more into it than I had thought he would since he is a bit timid around water, but he went down it a lot and seemed to really have a ball. Thanks Jason and Linda for having us over for a fun day. Life is good.

Visiting 7.20.09

Logan and Tenley...oh so cute!
Logan loved that he could fit inside my podium...

...then he wanted a picture on top...such a good sport.

Logan and I spent Monday running some errands. We swung by Hillary's house to return some movies and Logan and Tenley (Hillary's daughter) got a chance to play together. Then we headed off to my school so I could pull some stuff off my school computer. Logan loves playing at school. Life is good.

Hill's Going Away Party 7.18.09

Hillary, Darrick, and I
Monica and Gina

Julie and Hillary

Later that evening I attended my friend Hillary's going away party. I work with Hillary and unfortunately she was let go and got a new teaching job in another state. She's such a great friend and we're all going to miss her terribly. Life is good, even when you're sad to see a friend go.

Children's Art Festival 7.18.09

The reptile man brought an alligator that he put to sleep by rubbing her eyes.
Craig and Logan got to help hold a snake.

Craig and I posing with the firedog!

Karen helped Craig paint his fish.

Logan was so proud of his painting...cutie!

Every year my county puts on a art festival for children and it never ceases to amaze me how wonderful it all comes together. Logan loves to do all the projects they offer and this year the reptile man came as well and Logan and Craig were thrilled to see all his creatures. Life is good.

Scotty B's 7.14.09

M Me, Kara, and Becky

Drinks with my dear friends...thanks ladies. Life is good.

Chelan 7.10.09

The birthday girl.
The house we stayed in...thanks Judy's sister!!

Our first winery...good times!!!!!

One of the wineries had a bit of a naughty theme going on...I was simply taking it all in! ;)

Oh Troy, sweet, sweet Troy!!!

While Logan stayed with his dad, I went with a group of my girlfriends to Chelan for wine tasting, sun bathing, and good times celebrating my friend Kim's birthday. It was so much fun to get away for awhile and recharge. Thanks ladies for a great long weekend. Life is good with such good friends.

Dino Playground 7.9.08

Looks like fun, right?
Logan sure thought so!

He's a dinosaur...in case you couldn't figure that one out. :-)

My little climber.

The above fish...good stuff.

Near our house by the river is a great park that is in the shape of a dinosaur, so you can imagine how much Logan likes to visit it. Today we ran around the park for a bit, took a little walk, and then investigated "Leaper", a fish statue near the park. We had such a great time. We'll definitely be hitting this park quite a bit during the summer months. Life is good.

Fry and Paterson Extravaganza 7.8.09

New cousins...Logan, Maddox, and Morgan. Fast friends.
Brian trying to convince the boys to be very still to watch the hummingbirds.

Are those some adorable boys, or what?

Dianne, me, and Leslie...good times!!!

My sister-in-law,Leslie, came up this week with her fiancee Brian and his two boys Morgan and Maddox. They chose to have their nuptials here versus their home town, which was great for us! Logan had never met his new cousins, and needless to say it was instant enthrallment (for all the boys). We had a wonderful night up a Ron and Dianne's and it was hard to pry the boys away from each other. How blessed is my little Loganberry that he just inherited two new cousins. Life is good with a family like ours.

Fourth of July (Obvious date, yeah?)

The traditional in front of the flag picture!
Logs ready for the parade...this year he was very into collecting the candy!

Grama Jo-Jo and my bff Karen

My best girls and their beautiful children...what a crew.

This year the kids flocked to this tree for some reason and had a grand time.

Oh sweet, sweet Fourth of July. It never amazes how great of a time I have when I head out to my dear friend's place every Fourth of July. It never gets old. I never tire of the wonderful company, more family then friends. There's always something fun to do, whether it's going down the non-death (you guys know what I'm talking about) stairs to the beach, taking a boat ride, blowing bubbles, finding crabs, killing crabs, eating crabs, playing in trees, or doing an art project (this is, after all Karen and Jolene we're talking about!) This year was no exception. Wonderful weather, great friends, excellent food, a killer parade, and a good time had by all. You surrogate family of mine, I love ya and I can't tell you enough how much it means to me every year to be included in this family tradition, and to have Logan growing up knowing this is what we do on the Fourth of July. It's our family tradition too!! Life is good in a free land!

Trunks 6.30.09

Can't I please take them off Mama?

My dear sweet little Loganberry has decided that the best way, hell, the only way to get in a pool is naked. I really don't have much a problem with this when we're just hanging out in our backyard. Unfortunately, it gets a little dicey when we go to other people's homes. So in an attempt to convince him just how "cool" swim trunks are I got him a new pair with his favorite thing...sharks. Our results....wait and see. I'm not holding my breath! Life is still very good.

Strawberry Fields...6.29.09

I think we have some eager berry pickers on our hands.
Karen and the boys out in the field.

Don't they look delicious?

Looks like Logan thinks so. :-)

What a good crop!

Every year we try to get to the local strawberry fields to do some pickin' and taste testing! This year Karen and I brought the boys and they were all over the place. They were very particular about being the ones to carry the buckets and do most of the picking. The hard part was helping them recognize the ripe berries, no one wanted a bucket full of green strawberries. For me, the hardest part was making sure Logan didn't eat them all right then and there. What can I say, my little boy loves strawberries. Then when we were done picking, we of course had to indulge in a fresh strawberry milkshake. Dang, life is good!

The Dentist...6.25.09

Chocolate milk with all the fixings!
Does that look good, or what?

I promised we brushed teeth afterwards with his new fancy toothbrush...I even got him to floss for the first time!! Yipee!

So we had Logan's first official dentist visit today. He was very leary at first, and ultimately the dentist didn't really get to check his teeth out too much. But, we did get him to sit in the chair while it went up and down, and he checked out all the instruments, and showed his teeth for all of five seconds; baby steps people, baby steps. So, hopefully next time, she can actually clean them?!?!!? Anyway, as a prize (and to give the dentist more to do next time :-)), I took Logan over to Starbucks for treats afterwards. Life is good...even when it involves a dentist!!! :-)

Sleeping...6.24.09

Sometimes playing just wears a little guy out...his eyes gave up, but the hands are still ready to play! Life is good.

The Zoo 6.22.09

I had to get some shots of my favorite animal!
The bears were awesome.

Which two are the monkeys?

Look at those climbers!

On our way out we saw this peacock in a pen with a bunch of goats...it was amazing!

Surprisingly enough, with all the fun adventures that Karen and I have had with the boys in the past 3 and a half years, we have yet to go to the zoo together. Well, before Craig was blessed with a new little brother or sister, we decided to get these boys to see some animals together, and what a fun time it was. The boys were great. They pointed out all the animals for us to see, made animal noises galore, and were thrilled with all the fun sights. (Although I think I need to get Logan to an aquarium, as the animals he most wanted to see were sharks, whales, and fish.) It was a long day, but a great one. Oh, and the new penguin exhibit was fantastic! Life is good.
