Snow Extravaganza 12.14.08

Oh my snow pup!
Logan couldn't be happier...so much snow to eat.

My family.

Yes, every year we get the boys matching Christmas jammies.

Sex and the City...the theme of the extravaganza.

Our first big snow fall of the year coincided with the day Karen and I had set aside for our Christmas Extravaganza this year. It worked out beautifully. The boys got to play in the snow (so did the mom's and Normy), have some chocolate milk (the fancy kind from Starbucks), and open gifts. What a terrific day. In fact, it was so great that once Karen and Craig left, Logan went down for a four hour nap! Yikes! Anyway, as always the extravaganza was memorable and Karen and Craig spoiled us rotten! Life is good.

Game Night 12.13.08

Pizza...delicious.
See the legs in the background!! ;-)

I think I'm finally winning Reese over.

Happy Holidays!

What a little ham!

As the first snow of the year started to fall, Karen invited Logan, me, Linda, Brookie, and Reese over for some holiday cheer and games. We had a wonderful time eating, drinking, playing, and exchanging gifts. There's nothing like getting together with your friends and family this time of year. The kids did great together and before the roads got too treacherous, we all headed for home. Thanks for a great night ladies. Life is good.

Gingerbread House 12.11.08

What it's suppose to look like.
"I won't eat all the icing Mama!"

Such concentration.

Ummm, Logan no taste testing.

We did it!!!!

Seriously, there is a never ending list of fun activities to do this time of year. Logan and I decided to have a "party" as he called it and build a gingerbread house last night. Oh what fun! Logan did a simply terrific job of making sure the icing was edible and I'm sad to report that the gingerbread boy didn't make it through the night. :-) His little arms and legs were just way too tastey to resist. This morning Logan as very disturbed to realize that the ooey, gooey icing from last night was now "frozen." Life is good!

Oh Christmas Tree 12.7.08

Cute, but too little.
Where are Shane and Logan?

We did it, we found the perfect Noble Fir!!

The sweet taste of success.

Merry Christmas.

One of my favorite holiday excursions is to the tree farm. This year Logan and I went with Dad, Mom, Jeff, Kim, Shaneo, Neiko, and Norman. It was terrific. The weather was beautiful, the trees were fantastic, and the boys had a blast running through all the "paffs". Besides a few rogue tree stumps which caused more than one fall, it was a grand time. After searching for the perfect tree, the boys were lucky enough to get some delicious candy canes and then we all headed down to the locan cafe for some lunch and then it was home to decorate. Now it feels like Christmas. Life is good.

A Visit with Santa 11.30.08

Kim and Shane getting into the holiday spirit.
Three generations...not too shabby.

Great cousins...better friends.

Waiting to see the big guy...still a bit unsure.

That's my boy!!!!

I couldn't believe it...I had it all figured out. Logan, upon seeing Santa, was going to scream bloody murder as he has done for the past two years. I would then use that picture as our Christmas card and have some adorably pithy comment about Logan finding out he was on the naughty list or something to that regard. Well, my dear sweet Logan foiled my plans yet again. Sure enough, this year not only did he not scream, but he showed Santa the car he was holding, he asked for "chocit", "dinosaurs", and a "carey shark" and he told Santa that he had soft pants. :-) It was priceless. And that Santa, what a wonderful guy. When we got up to his lap, he told Logan that he'd been waiting all day to see him. Man, was Logan ever thrilled. Now that was on Sunday and since then, every morning when we get in the car, it's "Mama, go see Santa?" What a terrific start to this wonderful holiday season. Life is good.

Wonderful Friends 11.28.08

What a good lookin' group of kids...man their parents must be hotties! :-)

Friday night I had the extreme pleasure of hosting my dear friends from Bellingham for a night of dinner, drinks, and laughter. It had been forever since we'd all seen each other and let our kidlets play. What a great night! It was so fun to catch up and watch our children play. Oh, and MaryJo, I found the caterpiller!! ;-) Thanks Becky, Kara, Megan, and MaryJo for a wonderful evening. I had a blast. Who's hosting in the Spring??? Life is good.

Christmas Lights 11.28.08

Tommy helping his dad.
Boys hard at work.

Be careful D. It's mighty slippery up there. You rock!

My good friends, The Hayman's, came over on Friday to put up my Christmas lights for me. They brought their adorable boys, so Logan was content (even in the rain). They even brought two cars so when we ran out of lights (oops), Anne was able to run to Target for me. What great friends. Thanks guys, er, Darrick. Life is good.

Happy Thanksgiving 11.27.08

Nothin' beats a good ole chicken nugget on Thanksgiving!?!
I'm so thankful.

Em, Kelly, and Brandi were able to join us.

Some of Mom's great decor.

Oh my little turkey!

This year we spent Thanksgiving at my parents house. I really do love this holiday because it's so centered on our loved one's and all our blessings. I truly feel so blessed for all the wonderful people in my life and how amazing life is, especially having a three year old who always keeps you guessing. What a great day. Thank you to everyone who brings so much love and laughter into our lives. We're very thankful. Life is good.

Swingin' with a friend 11.23.08

"High as a tree!"
Good times!

Since Sunday was such a beautiful autumn day, Karen and Craig swung by with coffee for me...oh sweet, sweet coffee, and some play time on the brain. Logan and Craig didn't stay inside for long. Soon it was push me Momma, push me! Hayman's...have I mentioned how much I love our swingset? Thanks again. Life is good.

Gobble Gobble 11.23.08

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, I helped Logan make his annual Thanksgiving cards. This year I realized if I want to keep this tradition up, I'm going to have to move to bigger cards. Logan's little hand is not so little anymore. Yikes. Anyway, here's a picture of the beginnings of one of his turkey cards. Ah my little Picasso. Life is good.

My little baker 11.22.08

That's enough flour Logan. ;-)
Who wouldn't love something with two sticks of butter?!?!!?

Got enough Loganberry?

I just had to try some as well...not bad!

Ah, perfection. Home made chocolate chip cookies...doesn't get much better.

On Saturday evening I promised Logan that we would make some chocolate chip cookies. Man what a great little helper he was. As soon as we got home, he was opening up the pantry to get all our "stuff" and dragging a chair over to the counter. He excelled in scooping and dumping, oh, and taste testing! Look out Emril...here comes Logan. I can't think of a better way to spend a blustery November evening. Life is good.

Bear Hug 11.16.08

One of Logan's birthday presents was an adorable pair of bear jammies from my folks. Here he is ready to give a bear hug of his own. Life is good.

Charlie's 1st Birthday 11.16.08

The cake!
The birthday boy before....

...and after! ;-)

Logan was put to work...

...as well as Brady. Good job, boys.

On Sunday Logan and I headed to our dear friends house to help celebrate Charlie's 1st birthday. We always have such an amazing time when we hang out with my school friends. Charlie was absolutely adorable, although Logan was just sure that the presents were suppose to be for him. We were blessed with a great fall day so the kids even got to play outside in the leaves for awhile. Thanks Julie and Matt for throwing one heck of a shindig! Life is good.

Giddie Up 11.10.08

Logan cleaning his shark with a babywipe.
That's one cute cowboy!

Logan had his three year check-up today, so I took the day off (I was also feeling really crappy so it all worked out) to take him to his appointment. He did great at the doctor's office. He's a whopping 31lbs. and just a hair over three feet tall. Dr. Lowe (who we love) checked him all out and said he's looking great! He didn't however appreciate the flu shot; neither did I for that matter. Later on in the day (after the flu shot trauma) Logan donned his sombrero which he believes makes him a cowboy and was ridin' horses aka Norman around the house. Life is good.
