Katie's Baby Shower 4.22.12

Emily was home from college to participate in her sister's shower...it was so great to see her!

Today was my dear cousin Katie's baby shower.  Katie and Shaun know they are having a boy and they named him Soren.  It was a fantastic party honoring Katie and Soren.  Brandi did a terrific job hosting and it was at Katie and Shaun's which made it nice and easy for the guest of honor...no lugging the presents back to her house.  Katie got some lovely new things for her little guy.  We decided to go with some must have books.  Congratulations Shaun and Katie!

Tulips 4.21.12

Today we were off to the Tulip Fields.  We were meeting Grandma, Auntie Kim, and Shaneo there.  We arrived a bit early and had some fun, then it was time to go exploring.  As always, the flowers were beautiful and the day was glorious and sunny...a perfect spring day here in our little corner of the world.  We did see a nice man fall down which was unforunate, but he didn't get hurt and he had a great attitude about it.  We didn't do the face painting this year and the boys were great sports for all our picture taking and strolling.  We ended our adventure with a nice lunch out.

Third Baseball Game 4.21.12

Logan got to play the position of "pitcher" today!  He did really well.  He even got some ground balls.  With each game he gets better and better and gains more confidence.  Although, I believe, my most favorite part of the game was the last picture you see here...a ball was coming his way and instead of putting out his glove and catching it, or even going for it, he does this move... :o)  Way to pull a Matrix move buddy!

Today we played the yellow team and Logan's friend from school was on the team.  It was really cute watching them visit out on the field.  I love that at this age, the competition aspect of sports is not stressed at all and instead it's the aspect of sportsmanship, hard work, and playing as a team.  Logan had a great game and got into it even more than the first game.

Today was baseball practice again...and Logan had a blast.  The coach does a really great job of using the practice time wisely.  He has those kids hitting and throwing and catching and fielding.  I feel like Logan is learning SO much.  He tends to slash at the ball when it comes his way, but the swing is getting there.  Can't wait to see how the season plays out.

Today was Logan's first baseball game.  At this age, the games are 4 innings or an hour, whichever comes first.  Also, everyone gets a chance at bat every inning and everyone makes it on base; they just sometimes bring the T out.  I have to say, I'm really impressed with Logan.  Having never played T-ball, he's picked it up quite well.  Sometimes I think he's bored, but everytime I ask him if he likes it, he says yes!  We both just have to remember, it's much different than soccer.  There's a lot more standing around.  But he had a blast at his first game!!!  Way to go team!

Task accomplished!

After a lovely morning at home, we headed to Papa and Grandma's to celebrate Easter with the whole family.  Lucky Shane and Logan, the Easter Bunny made a stop at Papa and Grandma's house for them as well.  And then they got to do an outdoor egg hunt.  I was elected the official hider, so off I went.  I tried to hide them with just the right amount of difficulty...but as always, the boys found them all.  Well done boys!

I thought this one was going to be really hard...you see how it blends in with the others?  Well, he found it, no problem!

Food for the Easter Bunny.  Check.  An Easter basket full of goodies.  Check.  An egg hunt around the house.  Check.  It was a great Easter!!  Logan was totally into the hunt for eggs and he did really, really well.  I think the Easter bunny needs to make it a little harder next year.  I He forgets that I have one smart little boy on my hands!  That and I think Logan got some practice helping Karen look for the eggs for her birthday.  Happy Easter everyone!
