A Little Walk 4.19.09

My little rascal kept running up to the ducks and then running away screaming.
We brought food this time...the ducks love us now!

Just one of the 35 ducks I counted that day.

Can I just say yet again how lucky I am? My little boy loves, loves, loves to take our weekly walk to Starbucks. Weather permitting, I load up the boys (I'm including Norman here of course) and we head to Starbucks. It's a great walk, short enough that I'm not carrying Logan and it takes us right by a duck pond. Norman loves it!! And the bonus is that Starbucks is waiting for us at the end. Woohoo!! Today was a lovely day and the weather people had forcasted upper 70's, again woohoo!! Unfortunately, it never quite got there, but that didn't stop us and by 9:30am Logan was asking to go for a "yittle walk". So off we went. Life is good.

Cropathon 4.17.09

Jen and Becky and the infamous pretzels.
Our mess, er, work space!

This weekend I was lucky enough to participate in a fundraiser for Children's Hospital. Unlike fundraisers I've done in the past (a walk, a run, a raffle, etc.) this one was centered on scrapbooking for 20 hours...ummm, hello, color me happy! My sweet friend Rebecca invited me to participate and it was fantastic. I met some lovely ladies (Elizabeth and Jen you know I can only be that sarcastic with people I like), got 15 pages scrapbooked, ate some delicious food (thank you Dream Dinners), but most importantly, we raised over $12,000. What a wonderful event! Life is good.

Easter 4.12.09

Happy Easter!
Norman's gift!

Some of Logan's treasures at Grandma's house.

I just loved that he took a moment to lay down like this and survey the loot.

Oh sweet, sweet cousins.

Once again the Easter bunny made a stop at our place for Logan, and Norman. :-) As Logan was opening his eggs and finding new cars, he just kept repeating, "Wow! Wow!" It was priceless. We had a great morning, then made our stop to Starbucks and picked up Grandma Claire as we headed to my folks place for Easter dinner. I love it when we all can get together. Logan and Shane just have so much fun together and I love seeing my family. The boys got some more Easter goodies, then we had a fabulous dinner (thanks Mom), and then because it was raining out, an indoor Easter Egg Hunt. Logan was a bit let down when every egg didn't have a car in it. He would shake one, hear money inside, and say, "Uh, money again." Silly boy. I love that he's too little yet to "get" money. What a great day! Happy Easter everyone. Life is good.

Afternoon Fun 4.8.09

A field of snow geese we passed on the way.
My little munchkin.

How cool is this place?

Logan liked being a pirate.

And of course there was a ferry.

After work on Wednesday, I grabbed Logan from daycare and we headed out to a neighboring city to pick up some pottery I had made, then we hit their local brewery for some delicious fish and chips, and then we went to a local park that I had been hearing rave reviews about. FYI, this park had the best swings ever. They were like lounge chairs!! It was a little chilly, but Logan had a blast. I love living in an area where we can have all these adventures and take advantage of all the local places have to offer. Good times. Life is good.

Dying Easter Eggs 4.7.09

Look at that focus.
They're a cookin'.

He was so careful. :-)

This year we tried the rubber band trick...

...it turned out kind of cool.

One of my favorite Spring activities...dying Easter eggs. It was amazing to me to watch Logan tackle it this year. Last year, he definitely watched more than participated, but this year it was all him. He decided what colors to do, he put all the eggs in, took them all out (a few cracks can't hurt), and was master of the whole extravaganza! It was so much fun. Even Norman had to check it out. Life is good!

Hunting for Eggs 4.6.09

Logan
Craiger

Ryan

Macie

The happy hunters!

Trying to take advantage of a nice day, Karen invited Logan and I to join her and Craiger and some of their friends for an early Easter egg hunt. Karen had made Easter cupcakes, jello eggs, and other goodies. While the kids snacked, the Easter bunny hid eggs for them outside and then it was a free for all. They did fantastic, no pushing or fighting over eggs. Next we headed inside for a project, then we all just let them run and play. What a great Monday! Life is good.

Bouncy Fun Zone 4.2.09

Eva on the slide.
Foster and Logan playing basketball.

Logan, Spencer, and Eva having bouncy fun!

Day four of Spring Break Logan and I headed north for a playdate with Spencer, Foster, Eva, and little Jacob. What a great time! Lunch and play time at Beth's house first, and then it was off to the Bouncy Fun Zone. I had never been there before and let me tell you, what a fantastic place to take kids. Imagine a warehouse filled with bouncy toys...slides, mazes, houses, it was terrific. Logan hadn't seen these guys in awhile, but he fell right in and they became inseperatable. The girls and I were able to visit while the kids played. They played for about two hours which lead my little man to take a three hour nap...can I just say, heaven!!!! Life is good.

Daffodils 3.30.09

Spring!
Norman in hog heaven!

Stop and smell the flowers.

He was so excited that we found some!

I can't wait to come back on a warmer day.

On my first day of Spring Break, Logan, Norman, and I headed out for an adventure. We were in search of daffodils. Our area always has such beautiful fields, but with the weather wet and cold, it was a task to find a field that wasn't too muddy. After driving around for a bit, with Logan in the back screaming..."Dafdils, where are you?" We finally found some. Then we went by a local playground that we just had to check out because the main structure was a dinosaur. Hello!?!?! We only stayed for about half an hour though because it was freezing...it didn't help that the playground was right on the river banks. But all in all, a great way to start Spring Break. Life is good.

Partners in Hope 3.27.09

This year I decided to become a Partner in Hope, which is basically me donating some money to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. I'm so excited to do this. The radio station I listen to does a radiothon every year and this year I couldn't say no. As a thank you, Leanne Womack came to Seattle to put on private concert for everyone who participated. I got two tickets and couldn't think of anyone more perfect to invite than my sis. It was a fantastic event and all going to a great cause. Life is so very good.

Happy St. Patrick's Day 3.17.09

Not lucky, just cute!!
Arg matey!

That's a happy boy!

Logan and I celebrated St. Patrick's Day decked out in green, making and eating shamrock cookies, and watching soccer. (Okay, so it was Pablo and Uniqua playing, but still!!) Happy St. Patty's Day everyone! May you all be ever so lucky! Life is good!

Jazzy's Birthday Party 3.1.09

The birthday girl...not a great shot...she was much happier than this.
Pin the tail on the donkey!

Logan getting ready to take his turn.

Logan's standard party position...looming over the cake.

Jazzy's perfect princess cake.

We were lucky enough to get to attend our dear cousin Jazzy's birthday party this year! What a big 4 year old she is! She could not be more of a little princess, as you can tell by the pictures. Todd and Shellie put on one great party. Games, a pinata, food, cake, presents, heaven! Thanks guys for having us and a very happy birthday to you Jazz! Life is good.

Potty Training 2.26.09

No pictures for this one. I gotta give Logan some privacy! I just thought I'd update here because I'm so proud...the potty training is going really, really well. Everyone told me that it's different for each child, boys are usually later than girls, they'll do it when they're ready, blah, blah, blah; but all I could picture was having a five year old in pull ups! No thank you. But really it was all Logan. It's really like he woke up and decided, yeah, I am done with this and then he was off and running. (Bribing with chocolate didn't hurt either.) Anyway, we are well on our way! Woohoo!!!! Life is really good!

Fun in the Backyard 2.17.09

"High as a tree!"

This is of course, our pirate ship...as if I even needed to clarify!

Oh so thirsty.

And more...

...and more!!!

It seems like this time of year it's so easy to go a little stir crazy being cooped up inside all the time. So, if it's not 20 degrees or raining, the boys and I like to get outside. Whether it's going for a walk, playing at the park, or simply running around the backyard, it's nice to get outside. Today we added the element of water...hmmm, playing with the hose outside in February...maybe not the greatest idea. We all got a lot wet and a little cold! Still, what fun! Life is good.

Happy Valentine's Day 2.14.09

What a good lookin' group!
My boys.

Love!

I have no idea what Logan's smile is about here! :-)

Cuties.

Love is all around. Life is good!
