Happy Birthday Papa 3.7.10

No, Mom did not put 66 candles on his cake! :-)
You can do it Dad!

Shane got called in for some reinforcements! :-)

Today we celebrated my dad's 66th birthday!!! We played it really low key as he mostly just wanted to hang out and watch some sports, but we were all together which is the most important thing. Happy Birthday Dad! We love you so much. Life is good on Papa's birthday.

Bedtime Routine 2.21.10

First it's bath time...
Then teeth get brushed... Followed by 2 stories...

Awwwww, sweet, sweet sleeping boy! :-)

After four years, Logan and I finally have it down...the perfect bedtime routine that leaves him peacefully sleeping and me peacefully drinking a nice glass of wine and catching up on my favorite shows. It's funny how once you find what works for you, bedtimes aren't a chore. I actually look forward to our little routine and how we both know what needs to be done. Logan will tell me, "Momma, it's baff time. Don't fowget the cowors." Or, "Momma, member, TWO stowies, dat's my deal!" Anyway, it's a great time to bond with my little man and it's so nice to not have to fight with him about "two more minutes" or "not yet" or "it's not dark out". Hopefully, this routine will serve us well and last for quite awhile. Life is good when your four year old is sleeping soundly! :-)

Walking to Starbucks 2.21.10

The boys eager to get bread from me to give to the ducks!
It seemed like there were hundreds of them.

Karen and her boys.

Me and my boys.

They were so cute just watching the ducks eat and swim.

On this beautiful, warm, sunny Sunday (it's hard to believe it's winter still), Karen, Craig, Brett, Logan, Norman, and I headed out for a nice walk to Starbucks. We love taking this stroll as it leads us by the ducks. On this particular day we met a nice lady that I've seen there before and boy did she come prepared. She had a huge plastic bag full of corn seed for the ducks and they went crazy. It was clear that they knew her and the goodies she had in store for them. She was very kind and let the boys help her feed the ducks. Then a nice man came by with some bread and he let the boys help him feed the ducks as well. Spoiled guys! :-) Once we got back to my place, the neighbor boys were out in the cul-de-sac riding their bikes, so we joined in. What a fun few hours. Unfortunately, it was only after the fact that I relized I had my camera on some weird setting that made my pictures a bit grainy. Oh well. Life is good with so much fun to be had.

Playground Fun 2.15.10

Logan working his way through the "pirate ship".
Craig scaling the rock wall.

Karen and Brett

My boy and I headed down the wet slide (thanks for getting most of it off Karen! ) :-)

So on this President's Weekend, Logan and I headed to a nearby school with Karen, Craig, and Brett to have some fun, and boy did we ever. (This will hopefully the school that Logan attends from kindergarten to 8th grade!) The boys had a great time playing on all the playground equipment (Karen and I even got into the action too). Brett took it easy in his stroller, we met a new sweet old puppy (who just happened to be a golden retriever), and Karen and I tested our knowledge of geography with a map of the United States. Needless to say, we were pretty sure it wasn't quite acurate as we couldn't quite place a couple states. Hey, I'm an English teacher, not Social Studies! :-) It was a very fun way to spend our last day of this long weekend. Thanks Karen and boys. Life is good.

Valentine's Day 2.14.10

I love you Loganberry. Happy Valentine's Day everyone. May you all bask in the love you have and the love you give. :-) Life is good.
