Decorating 12.6.09

Logan's best impersonation of a tree!
Man, my boys really do put up a lot from me. :-)

Lights on, decorations to come soon.

Logan really got into decorating the tree this year. He was all about the star on top, the lights, and hanging the ornaments. In fact, it's a good thing that our tree had so many strong low branches, as that's where most of our decorations ended up. So fun!!! Life is good.

Christmas Tree 12.6.09

Our tree!!!

Ah, one of my other favorite Christmas traditions...the trek with the whole family to get our tree. I'm sure some day I will cave and get a fake tree, they really do make sense in a lot of ways, but at this point in my life I couldn't imagine not taking Logan and Norman to the tree farm and finding that perfect tree to bring home. We had a cold but beautiful day for our tree hunt and found what we thought would be the perfect tree for us. Needless to say, we ended up having a Clark Griswald moment when we cut the binding off. I do think it is the biggest tree that our little hosue has ever held. I LOVED it!!!! Life is good.

Christmas Lights 12.5.09

Tommy was a fantastic helper!!!
Darrick, was this the first time stringing them, or the second??? :-)

Once again, Darrick came to our aid (thank you Darrick) and did a marvelous job of hanging up our Christmas lights. We even added to reindeer to our decor this year. Logan named the doe "George" and the buck "Star Wars". Ah, to be 4 again. Life is good.

It's Christmas 11.29.09

Merry Christmas
Logan loved this cowboy Santa...

...and so did Shaneo.

Logan playing with his new decoration...a pirate ship. Pretty fitting, don't ya think?

The boys outside...so sweet.

One of the other things I LOVE about taking Logan to our local nursery to see Santa, is that it always feels like the start of Christmas when we go. The staff does such an amazing job with decorations, each year outdoing the previous. This year was no exception. The trees (of which there were dozens) were all outfitted beautifully, each with it's own special theme. After the boys have time with Santa, we always tour the rest of the place, ooohing and aaaahing as we go. Both indoors and out provide ample picture opportunities, of which we of course take advantage of. :-) We also always pick up a new decoration or two for our tree. This is one of my favorite Christmas traditions. Life is good.

Santa 11.29.09

The boys waiting in line for their chance to meet Santa.
Shane's such a pro and I love that at 9 he still loves this.

Logan requested, "bee transformer, cars, and ice age." So sweet!

Such a big boy.

Logan and Shane showing their true colors. :-)

On Sunday the 29th of November, Mom, Kim, Shane, Logan, and I met at a local nursery to see Santa. Logan has had on and off success with Santa. Last year was the first year that he didn't cry, but I still had to sit up with him. This year, my big brave 4 year old, went up all by himself and proceeded to talk Santa's ear off. It was precious. I love taking Logan here because not only do they not charge a fee (they only ask for donations that go to local charities), they also let you take your own pictures while they take their professional ones, and Santa is especially fantastic! He's kind, genuine, and as real as they come. I'm so glad that Logan had a great experience this time because later I found out that our Santa may not be there next year as his health is failing. I hope he knows how much joy he has brought to numerous children and parents over the years. He'll be in our thoughts and prayers. Life is good with Santa.

Projects and Norm Part 2 11.28.09

This is what we made for Thanksgiving to hand out to all our family. And again, Logan LOVES Norm. :-) Life is good.

Projects and Norm 11.24.09

Logan is doing so many great projects at school that I'm not sure what to do with them all. Someone suggested that I take his picture with them. I liked this idea since I can't imagine keeping all of his great works of art. So this day, Logan held up this awesome spider that he made at daycare. Also, he has just been absolutely in love with Norman lately. Seriously, he can't get enough of him. So, as he was loving on him, he said, "Momma, take our picture." Pretty cute! Life is good.

Special Delivery 11.22.09

Pirate Logan
Pirate Reese

Headed home with a juice box...good stuff.

Today we had a playdate with Brooke and Reese and we also delivered their party favors. At Logan's birthday party, Reese crawled into his bed and started to fall asleep so they took off before I handed out the party favors. Reese LOVED her new pirate hat, but Brooke wouldn't hear of it. Logan, being a pirate pro at this point, showed us his best mean pirate look! :-) Life is good.

Silly Boy 11.17.09

Okay, so I'm back. I can't believe I haven't blogged in almost 2 months. I have no excuse except to say that I got lazy, felt like I was being repetative and let the holidays get the better of me. I will try to do better in the New Year. So, I thought about just skipping ahead to stay current, but I'm really want to document the adventures Logan and I had together, so the next few posts will be of events from "last year." Oh well, what are you gonna do?

So, one of Logan's favorite things to do is jump on my bed. Today he was at it again and I snapped a quick pic between jumps. Life is good.
