4th of July

This was right before my camera took a dive into the sound.

More pics from the 4th!!! :-)

Happy Birthday America 7.4.10

My American Boy.
The parade.
Reese, Linda, and Brooke...such beauties.

Headed down to the beach.

Giddy up Reese!

Once again we were lucky enough to head out to the island for the 4th of July. Eventhough this year was a bit colder, it didn't stop us all from having a glorious time. Food, friends, family, and fun...good times. We had the parade, a delicious lunch of burgers and dogs (chicken nuggets for Logan of course), the duck dash, and this year we even tye dyed t-shirts (Logan chose green, pink, yellow, and orange). Thanks again to my extended family for hosting this fabulous get together. It's being with all of you that makes this day so special for Logan and I. Life is good.

Dog Gone Good 7.3.10

Norm and Beau
They wore each other out playing so hard.

We had the great pleasure of doggysitting Ron and Dianne's boy Beau. Norm and Beau are the best of buds and have such fun together. Beau is such a sweetie. It makes me want to get another dog...hmmmmmmm...Life is good.

Pool Time 6.29.10

This summer is shaping up to be a great one. The end of June and it's pool time. Now, Loganberry is not one of those kids that really jumps in to the water with both feet. Instead, he likes to wade in, put a chair in the pool, and really avoid getting very wet no matter what the cost. :-) I wish he took more joy in really playing in the water, but I appreciate how unsure he is and I definitely don't want to push him to do something that he's not ready for. We had a great day splashing in the water and then we had a little pinic. I brought out a big blanket for us to sit on and Logan decided that B needed to be out with us too! Life is good.

Best Buddies 6.28.10

They are like two peas in a pod. I love these boys. Life is good.

Getting ready for warm weather 6.27.10

It seems every year I am buying a new inflatable pool for Logan because we constantly wreck them by the end of the summer. So, this year, I thought I'd pull them out ahead of time and check to see if maybe we couldn't avoid buying a new one this year. Turns out, we have two that actually still work!!! Yahoo! Once I pumped them up Logan decided he needed to put on his "swimmin' trunks" and play in them. Good times. Life is good.

Let Summer Begin 6.22.10

How cute is that little tyke?
And then there are the tough boys. :-)

Buddies.

So sweet!

Today was our first summer playdate and who better to have it with than our best buddies, Craig and Brett?! I'm so excited for summer and all the fun to have. It's just so nice to be able to spend quality time with Logan and all our friends and family. We played outside for awhile and then moved it indoors. What a fun start to our summer. Life is good.

Toy Story 3 6.21.10

Logan and Mom getting ready for the movie.
After the show, Logan so didn't want his picture taken. :-(

McDonald's play area...good times.

Oh what a great movie!!! Today, Mom, Logan, and I went to see Toy Story 3 in the movie "feeater" and it was sooooo good. They offered it in 3-D, but I'm not a big fan, so we saw the regular version. It had be laughing and crying. So good. Logan loved it, although there was one part that had him in tears as well because he was so scared. Afterwards, he told me he wanted to go see it again. :-) After the movie we went to lunch. It was a great summer afternoon. Life is good.

Kevin's Home 6.12.10

Logan, Reise, Shane, and Zaylor playing with bubbles.
Sweet, sweet sisters.

Kevin was so patient with all the boys and how much they wanted to wrestle.

Cousins!

My little Marine.

My cousin Kevin is currently serving in the Marines and I am SO proud of him, but miss him very much. This summer he surprised most of us with a visit home, so my aunt and uncle put together a little shindig. It was SO fun. Logan hasn't really been able to spend a lot of time with Kevin and man, he was enthralled. He had such fun playing with all the kids and wrestling with Kevin and trying on his gear. I, loved to see my cousin so happy and doing so well. It was one of those basically impromtu gatherings that memories are made of. The day was gorgeous. The family was in fine form. Good times were had by all. Thanks Mick and Cheryl for hosting. Kevin, we're so proud of you. Be good. Stay safe. We can't wait to see you again soon. Life is good.

Happy Birthday Mom 6.6.10

Dad's skipping stance. :-)
Jeff's skipping stance, notice how low he goes...it sure works for him.

My little beach bum.

If I don't say so myself, I'm getting quite good at taking our picture myself. :-)

Seriously, how much do you love my mom? I hope that when I'm her age I am still climbing trees with my grandchildren. Love ya Mom.

Last year for Mom's birthdy we went to the races and oh what fun we had. This year, the weather wasn't suppose to be as nice, but we wanted to get out and do something. So, we stayed local, had a delicious lunch and then went to a nearby beach. It was great. No rain. :-) All the guys enjoyed skipping rocks (Jeff was a master) and Mom, Kim, and I simply enjoyed being all together and at the beach. We stayed for a good hour or so and just as we were heading out the rain set in. We couldn't have timed it better. I think Mom had a great day and enjoyed her gifts, her lunch, and time with her family. I'm only sorry that my brother wasn't able to join us. Next year that guy better get the day off!! :-) Happy Birthday Mom! We love you very much. Life is good when you're with your family celebrating Mom's birthday.

Puppy Love 5.31.10

As Logan says..."He's my best fwiend."

This year for Memorial Day we stuck close to home and played it really low key. It was nice to just be with my boys and enjoy the long weekend. Logan was LOVIN' Norman today and really wanted their picture together. I had never planned to get a puppy and have a baby within 5 months of each other, but now having Logan and Norman grow up together, I wouldn't have it any other way. We were blessed the day we chose Norman out of that beautiful litter of puppies to come home with us. I couldn't have asked for a better dog. He absolutely adores Logan, and kids in general. He's such a happy dog, loves to be where people are, loves walks, playing with his cousins Neiko and Beau, and talks more than any other dog I know (except maybe Bailey, his mama). Logan is constantly telling Norman how much he loves him and how sweet he is and it melts my heart every time. I love that I'm raising a son who loves animals so much and is so kind to them. Life is good with the best dog ever!!! :-)

Bubbles 5.30.10

My little gardener!
Ooooh, but this is so much more fun!

Logan did a lot of catching of bubbles as I blew them.

By the end of the day, we were pros. :-)

He was one happy bubble boy.

My plan today was to be very productive and get all my flower beds weeded, as they desperately needed it. So, as I started to get all my tools ready, I thought, what a great time to give Logan this gift I had been hanging on to since Christmas...his very own gardening tools. He loved them and was very excited to help me. Ummm, yeah, that lasted all of about 10 minutes and he was done. So, I let him persuade me to have some fun instead. Logan wanted to do bubbles and I remembered that I had picked up these bubble wands that I had seen for a long time that make the really big bubbles...you know the ones...they come in the shapes of turtles, flowers, hearts, and such. Anyway, Logan and I decided to break them out today and take them for a test run. Oh what fun. There was a bit of a breeze which helped them to fly and man was it fun to produce such big bubbles. I look forward to using these guys for years to come. Life is good.

School's Out for Summer 5.27.10

When I dropped off Logan he was whisked away and given a red shirt, sunglasses, and Mardi Gras beads...if that's not a festive look, I don't know what is.
Like I said, he just wasn't feelin' it...he had his hands in his pockets for most of the performance.

Shaking the maracas with his sombrero.

Logan and his teacher Nancy...Love her!!! (Oh, and Sam off to the side!!!)

It's hard to believe, but Logan just finished his first year of "school", sure it was "pre-school", but it still counts. I am in awe of his awesome teacher and how she got all those little 3 and 4 year olds to learn the basics of school...raising your hand, waiting your turn, sitting quietly and listening to the teacher...fabulous! Logan's growth this year and his confidence in his abilities has just skyrocketed. I'm thrilled he'll have another year of preschool next year before the big kindergarten move. I'm so proud of you little Loganberry. For the end of the year, both classes (the 3 year olds {which Logan was in} and the 4 year olds) put on this concert that was just a hoot. Logan wasn't quite feeling it that day, and I was in a horrible spot to get pictures, but we still had a great time. After the program, we went downstairs for a video that the preschool team had put together and it was adorable. Throughout the video Logan just kept calling out the kids names as he saw them, "It's Pierce!" "It's Luke!" "It's ME!" It was precious. Thank you to all the teachers, aids, and volunteers that helped to make Logan's first year of school the best either of us could have hoped for. Life is so good.

Sam's Birthday 5.23.10

The birthday boy and his momma! :-)
Happy Birthday Sam!

Pierce and Logan checking out some of Sam's new books.

Jonathan and Sam blowing out the candles!

Jonathan and Kara had recently put in this fantastic new swingset. The boys could have played out there for hours and hours.

Today Logan and I had the pleasure of attending Sam's birthday party! And what fun it was. The boys played and played and played while I got a chance to visit with some dear friends. Jonathan had outdone himself again with the cake. Sam's favorite thing right now are school busses, so of course he got a school bus cake. It was precious. Sam seemed to enjoy his birthday very much and it was a beautiful day to boot. Thanks dear friends for including us. Lots of love to you and Sam on his special day. Life is good.
