We had another birthday party this weekend. It was for our dear friend Charlie, he was turning the big 2! Logan was thrilled when he saw that the theme was "Finding Nemo"!!! It was a great party spent with great friends and the birthday boy could not have been cuter. Thanks Julie and Matt for letting us share in this special day. Happy 2nd Birthday Charlie. Life is good.

"Take my Picture" 11.15.09

God really does know what he's doing!!! He knew to gift me with a child who not only put up with having his picture taken constantly, but he gave me a little boy who actually asks for it. He was sitting at the table today and told me, "Momma, take my picture." And then he gave me the biggest grin. Well shoot, how could I say no?? :-) Life is good.

Witch/Warlock 11.12.09

At Brooke and Reese's birthday party last month, Logan fell in love with this witches hat. So, we bought one and he's been playing with it ever since. I finally was able to capture him in it. Life is good.

Some Fresh Air 11.12.09

Well, after a day at home, Logan was still a bit under the weather, so I took Thursday off to spend it at home with him. Bless his heart, for all his coughing and running nose, he was in such great spirits. So, around 11:00 when the sun burst through the clouds we decided to go for a little walk. It was great to get out and get some fresh air; unfortunately, it was on our walk that Logan really started to complain about his ear so I decided to take him to the doctor and sure enough, after four years, my little guy had his first ear infection. It wasn't too bad, but it was definitely there which explains a lot about how bad he was feeling. I'm sure glad I decided to take the day off. Here are some pictures from our walk. Hanging out with the ducks always seems to help! :-) Life is good.

Bedtime Stories 11.11.09

Logan had been "alseep" for about an hour when I went in to check on him. Apparently, the thee stories we read, the one I told him, and the one he told me just wasn't enough for him tonight. Needless to say, when I put him down there were no books on his bed. But hey, I'm an English teacher, if he's going to stay up late, reading sounds like a pretty good past time to me!! :-) Life is good with a good book or 10. :-0

Dark Circles 11.10.09

Well, just like almost every else out there, this cold/flu season hit our home. Logan had been fighting off a nasty cough for over a week when it finally got the best of him. I dropped him off at daycare this morning one happy (albeit a bit coughy) boy. When I showed up at 4:00pm, Shira asked me, "So, you know he's sick right?" As I looked at her, questioning if she just meant the cough or if there was more, my little man walked around the corner and had the darkest circles under his eyes (and this was after a 3 hour nap). I almost had to laugh because it looked like he'd been punched in the both eyes, poor boy. And that cough had definitely amped itself up. Lucky for us the next day was Veterans Day so I had the day off. I tried to capture a couple pictures to show just how dark his eyes were, they don't show it well enough, but I have to say, I'm thankful that I can spend the day at home tomorrow with my little guy and give us both a day to rest and recooperate. I'm also thankful that our dear family and friends understand when we have to cancel plans at the last minute. Life is good, even with dark circles.

Family Photos Part I 11.8.09

On a very windy, cold day where the rain was just moments away, my family and I headed to this fantastic site my cousin Brandi told us about to get some professional pictures taken. My dear friend Becky who had done some outstanding pictures of us back in May was now going to tackle my whole crazy family. She braved the elements with us and ended up capturing our family in ways I couldn't have even hoped for. All the images in the next three posts are all courtesy of rebeccabphotography. Life is good!!

Brett's Baptism 11.8.09

One big happy family.
A beautiful brunch.

Brett's name sign from two of his godparents, Greg and Tami.

Craiger having a snack.

Logan giving his customary wink!!!

On Sunday Logan and I were honored to attend our dear friend Brett's baptism. Logan and I don't usually attend church so I was very curious to see how this was going to go. A service that includes a baptism, a sermon, and the offering could be a long time to sit quietly for a four year old little boy, but Logan did fantastic. Not only did he do really well, he said he wanted to go back. Yea! The baptism was beautiful, Brett was a champ and Scott and Karen could not have looked more like the proud parents that they were. After the service we headed over to Scott and Karen's for a brunch and time for the boys to play. It was a great day and I felt so lucky to be a part of it. Thanks Scott and Karen for including us on Brett's special day. Life is good when you're welcomed into the Lord's hands.

Reise's Birthday Party 11.7.09

The cake was beautiful and delicious.
Reise was happy to blow out his candles and dive right in.

A big hug thank you for Gigi!!!

I was lucky enough to have Logan on a Saturday that happened to fall on Reise's birthday party. Woohoo!!! Reise is my cousin Katie's little boy and he was turning 3. It was a great party and Reise was happy to keep things moving. We did lunch, cake, and presents in a matter of about an hour or so. What a fun afternoon. Thanks Katie and Reise for hosting such a great party. Life is good with birthday parties!!!!

Disney on Ice 11.5.09

Logan before the show...we were very excited!
The boys with their new goodies.

Mater...the Cars part was very cool.

The Lion King

Part of Tinkerbell Show

Part of Logan's birthday present from the Karen was a ticket to go see Disney on Ice. So, one blustery Thursday evening, Karen, Craig, Logan, and I all headed out to see the Disney extavaganza!!! It was better than I could have hoped for. The boys got parking cone hats, programs, toys, food, and a simply fantastic show. The show began with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy then lead into Cars, then The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, and it ended with Tinkerbell. Logan and Craig simply loved it and Karen and I were just as enthralled!! What a great present and a great memory. Logan has said again and again that he wants to see that show again...next time buddy!! Life is good on ice.

Friend Party 11.1.09

Nice smile Loganberry.
I was cracking up because as we were singing him Happy Birthday, Logan was giving everyone the death glare. Way to go buddy. :-)

The kids enjoying their dessert and show...Shaneo was really holding court, attempting to get a laugh out of all the kids.

It worked with Logan. :-)

Craiger attempting to get some laughs of his own.

We did cupcakes for this party and I think they were a big hit!!! Life is good.

Happy Birthday Again 11.1.09

What a lucky boy.
Reading our card from Karen that says we get to go to Disney on Ice with them!

Logan getting his first Star Wars toy...he was very excited!

I even got a big ole kiss from the birthday boy! :-)

The kids were playing some sort of chasing game. Good times.

Okay, so just like last year, I decided to throw Logan two birthday parties. I know, some people may think it's crazy, but with my grandma and my parents attending one, I want them to be comfortable and happy, and really don't want to subject them to numerous kids running around like crazy people! So, this weekend I threw Logan a friend party. What a blast we had with all our little friends. The weather was actually quite nice, so the kids got to run around outside and burn off some energy. We had cupcakes, playtime, presents, and pirates! Thanks everyone for helping us celebrate Logan's birthday. We love you all. Life is good.
