Inauguration 1.21.13

After a regrettable evening that consisted of bad food, over crowding, and awkward bowling, it was up very early today for the inauguration.  We had tickets for the Gold area...the tickets themselves were way cool!  We got on the bus to take us into town while it was still dark out.  Now that's dedication!  Once we got to the parking spot, we had a bit of a walk to get to the Capitol.  We were concerned about all staying together in the ridiculous crowds so we all buddied up and held hands.  It was quite cute.  Especially when Cara kept asking Austin to hold her hand and he would say sure and then not do it over and over again, until she was just begging him.  I forget sometimes how darn cute high school kids can be!  We finally got to our gate, after weaving through many people, then it was time to wait FOREVER to go through security.  We waited and we waited and we waited, until finally I had enough and jumped the fence!  :o)  Shhhhhh, don't tell.  We all cleared security and then it was more walking to our spot.  Once we staked out our area, we still had a couple hours to kill before the inauguration actually started, but there were kids singing and plenty to see.  The actual inauguration was so cool; definitely, an experience that I will never forget.
 On our way!

 We made it!
There was a little bit of security at the event!  :o)
Thanks for an amazing trip Darrick!
I tend to take pictures of my feet quite a bit...I had to get them at the inauguration! :o)
What it must be like to be sitting up there!
