The letter!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!! This year St. Paddy's day landed on a Wednesday so we didn't "party" too hard, but what a fun time we had. After work, I picked up Logan from daycare and we headed over to Karen and Scott's. I seriously lucked out in the best friend department. I figured we'd get together for a playdate, let the boys run around in their green attire, have some dinner and call it good. Oh, no, Karen had other ideas up her sleeve. So, after we were there for a few minutes, there was a "knock" at the door. The boys ran to look to see who was here and they had been left a package. In the package was a note from O'Malley the Leprechaun! It was priceless to see the look on Logan and Craig's faces when they realized a Leprechaun had left them a note!! :-) O'Malley had also left a little "trick" for the boys. (cups of powder that when combined with milk would making green pudding) Then the boys went on a hunt for all of O'Malley's treasure following clues that he had left them. And as it turned out, the end of the rainbow was a rainbow balloon Karen had with a black coffee cup full of those chocolate coins. It was perfect. And to finish the evening we had to indulge in a little fish and chips of course! :-) Thanks Karen for a great St. Patrick's Day! Life is O'So good!

PSC 3.14.10

Logan was so excited!!
Kim and Shaneo in front of Kim's favorite dinosaur...Triceratops.
Logan in the footprint of a Platypus.
This mirror/bug display was really cool.

Logan in the kid area practicing his driving skills.

Ever since I took Logan to the science museum in the big city for his 3rd birthday (a year and a half ago) he's been talking about going back to "da dinosaur museum". So, on a typical wet March Sunday in the northwest, I loaded up my little boy, my sister, and my nephew and we headed to the big city. We had such fun...it brings me so much joy to have Logan so interested in a place where not only he has fun, but he learns as well. I think we played with just about any and everything we could get our hands on. Also, there was a snake lady there that day, so the boys got to learn a lot about snakes. I have to say, our favorite part by far though was the dinosaur display. So cool. Life is good when you can learn and have fun.

Happy Birthday Papa 3.7.10

No, Mom did not put 66 candles on his cake! :-)
You can do it Dad!

Shane got called in for some reinforcements! :-)

Today we celebrated my dad's 66th birthday!!! We played it really low key as he mostly just wanted to hang out and watch some sports, but we were all together which is the most important thing. Happy Birthday Dad! We love you so much. Life is good on Papa's birthday.

Bedtime Routine 2.21.10

First it's bath time...
Then teeth get brushed... Followed by 2 stories...

Awwwww, sweet, sweet sleeping boy! :-)

After four years, Logan and I finally have it down...the perfect bedtime routine that leaves him peacefully sleeping and me peacefully drinking a nice glass of wine and catching up on my favorite shows. It's funny how once you find what works for you, bedtimes aren't a chore. I actually look forward to our little routine and how we both know what needs to be done. Logan will tell me, "Momma, it's baff time. Don't fowget the cowors." Or, "Momma, member, TWO stowies, dat's my deal!" Anyway, it's a great time to bond with my little man and it's so nice to not have to fight with him about "two more minutes" or "not yet" or "it's not dark out". Hopefully, this routine will serve us well and last for quite awhile. Life is good when your four year old is sleeping soundly! :-)

Walking to Starbucks 2.21.10

The boys eager to get bread from me to give to the ducks!
It seemed like there were hundreds of them.

Karen and her boys.

Me and my boys.

They were so cute just watching the ducks eat and swim.

On this beautiful, warm, sunny Sunday (it's hard to believe it's winter still), Karen, Craig, Brett, Logan, Norman, and I headed out for a nice walk to Starbucks. We love taking this stroll as it leads us by the ducks. On this particular day we met a nice lady that I've seen there before and boy did she come prepared. She had a huge plastic bag full of corn seed for the ducks and they went crazy. It was clear that they knew her and the goodies she had in store for them. She was very kind and let the boys help her feed the ducks. Then a nice man came by with some bread and he let the boys help him feed the ducks as well. Spoiled guys! :-) Once we got back to my place, the neighbor boys were out in the cul-de-sac riding their bikes, so we joined in. What a fun few hours. Unfortunately, it was only after the fact that I relized I had my camera on some weird setting that made my pictures a bit grainy. Oh well. Life is good with so much fun to be had.

Playground Fun 2.15.10

Logan working his way through the "pirate ship".
Craig scaling the rock wall.

Karen and Brett

My boy and I headed down the wet slide (thanks for getting most of it off Karen! ) :-)

So on this President's Weekend, Logan and I headed to a nearby school with Karen, Craig, and Brett to have some fun, and boy did we ever. (This will hopefully the school that Logan attends from kindergarten to 8th grade!) The boys had a great time playing on all the playground equipment (Karen and I even got into the action too). Brett took it easy in his stroller, we met a new sweet old puppy (who just happened to be a golden retriever), and Karen and I tested our knowledge of geography with a map of the United States. Needless to say, we were pretty sure it wasn't quite acurate as we couldn't quite place a couple states. Hey, I'm an English teacher, not Social Studies! :-) It was a very fun way to spend our last day of this long weekend. Thanks Karen and boys. Life is good.

Valentine's Day 2.14.10

I love you Loganberry. Happy Valentine's Day everyone. May you all bask in the love you have and the love you give. :-) Life is good.
