Children's Art Festival 7.17.10

The ever popular GOOP!
Logan's first project of the day...heart pencil. :o)

Cool spider!!!

The boys with Sparky the fire dog. Last year, Logan was too scared of him to get his picture taken with him. My little guy is growing up!

What a great little artist!

Another year, another successful art festival. Again I am amazed at what my community can put together. Thank goodness for all the volunteers and community members who put in their time, energy, and money to provide this wonderful festival for all the children in the area. Logan was thrilled again to participate in many arts and crafts. I think his favorite parts were getting his arm painted (a spider) unfortunately it didn't last long as Logan rubbed his eye with his arm, watching the doggie dancing show, and painting a dead fish to make fish art, oh, and the bouncy house! And how great that we got to experience all this with our friends, Karen, Craig, Jonathan, Kara, Pierce, and Sam! We spent a couple hours there and walked away with some cool projects for Logan and some free lillies for me. What a deal! Can't wait for next year. Life is good.

Another day, Another playdate 7.16.10

Lunch on the lawn.
The Momma's

Becky's ever-so-delicious Lemon Drops.

Good thing they're not silly or anything.

Happy summer Loganberry!

One of the best parts of summer is the chance to get caught up with friends that we don't see nearly enough during the school year. Today we went to Becky's for a playdate with Griffin, Carson, Brenna, and Alanna. Becky made the grown-ups Lemon Drops. The kids played outside for hours and we all had a great lunch together. It was one of those fleeting perfect summer days that you just want to hold onto forever. Thanks to Becky and Kara for yet again, another great playdate. How lucky are we that our kids are all roughly the same age and hopefully will grow up playing together. Good times. Life is so very good.

Playdate with Wyatt 7.15.10

Logan and Wyatt...this must be the agreed upon position to sit for driving cars.
Peyton and Logan on the swings.

The kids all took turns driving Wyatt's four wheeler.

Josie have such fun outside in her bouncy chair.

And popsicles for dessert. :o)

Today Logan and I headed up north to visit our friends Donna, Wyatt, and sweet little Josephine. Donna was also watching another little girl named Peyton who Logan knows because her dad works with Mike. It was a beautiful summer day spent with great friends. Donna is one of the kindest, most giving friends I know. I always have such fun when we get together and Logan absolutely loves Wyatt. For years Donna has been giving us Wyatt's clothes as he outgrows them. I figure that woman has saved me millions over the years. :-) Anyway, it was a great day and I had a wonderful time playing with my new camera and taking a lot of pictures of all those little cuties. Thanks Donna for a great day!

Wounded 7.14.10

As Logan and I were going to get the mail, he decided to race down the driveway which has a slight decline and he fell HARD. After a lot of tears, I cleaned him all up and we applied medicine and bandaids, but he was just sure that he couldn't use his arms or legs because of the wounds. Oh my brave little boy. :o) Life is good even when you're wounded.

Strawberry Season 7.14.10

Cool old tractor.

Logan loved running up and down the aisle. :-)
We did a little taste testing as we were picking.
They were still warm from the sun...oh, so good.

If only they were available year round this way...mmm, mmm, good.

Logan and I decided it was time to head to our local berry farm to take advantage of all the fresh strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries. As picky of an eater as Logan is, he'll eat any and all fruit that you put in front of him so I always try to make sure that the house is stacked full of it. We got to pick our own berries, play with the toys there, and of course, we ended our time there with some milk shakes, raspberry for Logan and strawberry for me. It was great and I have the feeling that we'll be back a few more times before the summer is over. :o) Life is good.

Brandi's Shower 7.10.10

Delicious cake.
Okay, so how cute is that outfit?!??

So much for someone so little. :-)

Brandi with two of her guests...what fun to catch up with old friends.

Today my aunt and cousin threw a lovely babyshower for my cousin Brandi. She and her husband, Kelly, had found out that they were having a little girl, so the shower was adorned with pink. It was so sweet. Brandi looked simply glowing and she was surrounded by many friends and family. It was a beautiful afternoon and she got some very adorable things for little Aubrey. I know she's nervous (this is her first), but we all know she's going to be a great mom. We're so excited for Brandi and Kelly and the adventure they're about to take. Congratulations guys! Life is good.

Playdate with Carson 7.8.10

Logan on the swings at the park.
Carson with snacks.

Are those two silly boys or what?

Today one my dearest friends Becky came down with her youngest little one Carson and the boys had a playdate at a local park before coming back to our place. I just love hanging out with Becky and visiting. It seems we never run out of things to talk about and she always keeps me laughing. The boys had a great time as well. There's a year between the boys but you'd never know it by how well they play together. It was a hot day and so fun to be able to spend a few hours of it with our friends. Thanks Becky and Carson for a great afternoon. Life is good.
