January Projects 2.10.11

Just a few of the projects that Logan has completed for the month of January. Life is good.

Who Knew? 2.9.11

I'd find three men in my bed! {Four, if you count Norman!} Ah, life is good with Logan, Woody, and Buzz.

Living with a 5 year old 2.9.11

As I was cleaning house today, I had one of those moments. You know, when all those things you see day in and day out actually stand out for some reason. As I was picking up Transformers, stepping over dinosaurs, and putting "Toy Story" with all his other movies, I realized that my house had slowly, but surely been taken over by a 5 year old and I wouldn't have it any other way. :o) Here are a few pictures of what our house looks like these days. Life is good with toys of a 5 year old underfoot.

Now That's Dessert 2.9.11

I picked up this cookie for Logan today while I was picking up my coffee. It was practically the size of his head. Needless to say, I had one little boy who did a great job of eating his dinner. :o) Now we can't do this every night, but once in awhile doesn't everybody need a cookie the size of Texas? Life is good with my very own Cookie Monster! :o)

Homework 2.8.11

One thing I've really enjoyed watching this year, is Logan's determination with this homework. He's so intent on getting it right and so proud when he's all done. Tonight he was working on the letter H! Life is good with a little boy who takes pride in his work.

Fire Station Field Trip 2.3.11

Logan is absent in this picture because he had been bonked on the head and was not a happy camper. :o(

Today I was lucky enough to accompany Logan's preschool class on a field trip to the fire station. The father of one of the students is a fire fighter and he had arranged for all the kids to come and get a tour and a lesson on fire safety. What fun to watch the kids ooh and aah over all the fire engines and the gear and such. It was a great way to spend the day. {Even though Logan got banged up a bit and so was a bit of a grouch towards the end of the afternoon, but we still had a good time.} Thanks to all who made this day a big success. Life is good.

A Check-up, A Treat, and A Hospital Visit 1.31.11

Blood pressure. Check.
Hearing test. Check.

Celebratory brownie and chocolate milk.

All wrapped up to get his CT scan. He looked so tiny on the big hospital bed.

He was so happy to see Mike and his phone...there was a lot of waiting to be done and what better way to spend his time then by playing "Angry Birds". :o)

I had taken the day off today for Logan's 5 year check up. He did great! He passed the hearing and sight test with flying colors. He still lands in the 15th to 25th percentile in height and weight. And no shots!!! It was a great appointment and afterwards, we went to Starbucks for a little celebratory treat. Then it was off to go meet Karen and the boys for lunch. Well, as Logan was getting out of the car (he wanted to get out from my seat), his foot got caught on part of the car and he fell out of the car landing head first on the concrete parking lot. It was so awful to hear and see. He didn't lose consciousness, but got a good ole size bump on the side of his head. So we kept our lunch plans and then he went to Mom and Dad's while I had a dentist appointment. When I got back to their place to pick him up, he was saying how his brain hurt and he was exceptionally clingy (which is unlike Logan). Then on the way home he fell asleep {which could have meant nothing but I was starting to get a little panicky} and then when I woke him up, he threw up {about 1 minute from our house}. After cleaning up and another round of puking, it was off to the emergency room. Logan was such a trooper. He got poked and prodded and a CT scan. Thankfully he got a clean bill of health, but was told to take it very easy for the next couple weeks. It was his first concussion, and hopefully his last. Life is good when your little boy gets a clean bill of health.
