Yet again, my dear friends Darrick, Anne, and their little boy Brady (their oldest boy Tommy was at a birthday party) came over this year to help me put up my outside Christmas lights. I couldn't imagine not having Christmas lights up and I also couldn't imagine climbing up on my roof to hang them myself. (No thank you.) This year I was unprepared. I had forgotten that last year Darrick and I threw away a bunch of my old clips that were pretty useless, and I didn't resupply. Luckily sweet Anne was willing to run to the store to get more clips while Darrick and I got started on the lights. Love you guys. Can't wait for next year! ;o) Life is good.
Christmas Lights Going Up 12.4.10
Preschool Thanksgiving Program 12.2.10
The Thanksgiving program was suppose to happen on the day before Thanksgiving, but because of the flurry of snow that came through our area they cancelled it. So, it was rescheduled for today. Last year I was unable to attend the Thanksgiving program, so this year I was determined to make it, and I'm thrilled that I did. The kids were so cute dressed up as pilgrims and indians. All the hard work that the school and kids did was so worth it. It was a great program and then we had donuts and juice after. Mom and Dad were able to come and watch as well which just warms my heart. Life is good.
Letter to Santa 11.26.10
Today as I was sitting at the table grading some essays, Logan came up and wanted to do some "work" as well. So, we decided it was a perfect time for him to write his letter to Santa. I tried to help him, but he wanted to do it all himself. It was very sweet. He asked for a T-Rex thingy and a Mater crashing thingy. I hope he was a good boy this year. ;o) Life is good.
Thanksgiving Part I
I was floored this morning to wake up to a world of white. I love the snow and it was absolutely beautiful, but one of my first thoughts was, "Oh crap. I need to drive to my parents house today!" So, after a delicious breakfast, Logan and I bundled up and headed out to play in the snow. I think we were out of the house by 8:00am. :0) It was awfully cold out, but we stayed outside for quite awhile which made Norm one very happy puppy. After an hour or so we came in and got ready to head to my folks. It took us awhile but we made it there safetly and had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Life is good.
Thanksgiving Part II
As soon as we got to Mom and Dad's, Logan, Shane, and I bundled up and headed outside to play in the snow. It was a dicey drive, but I'm so glad that I made the effort and braved one of my least favorite things (driving in the snow). We had so much fun today playing both indoors and out. We had a snowball fight, made a snowman, and snow angels. And we got to eat a fantastic meal. What a good day. Life is good.
Thanksgiving Part III
Every year I'm amazed how Mom pulls off such an awesome Thanksgiving dinner. The food is delicious, the decor is warm and inviting, and the company couldn't have been better. I think that's why Thanksgiving has always been one of my most favorite holidays. It's not about presents or candy or fireworks. It's about family, friends, and simply spending the day with the people you love and being thankful for all your blessings. I am truly thankful for all the wonderful people and things in my life. I've been blessed beyond measure. Life is good.
Thanksgiving Part IV
After we ate and had a chance to clean up, Mom, Logan, Shane, and I headed out to play in the snow and build a snowman. It was that perfect kind of snow that packs just right and the snowman came along quite nicely. I have to say, my mom is an excellent snowman maker. And Logan was eager to help. As Mick and Cheryl were leaving we got into a snowball fight...so fun! I'm thrilled that they were able to join us for Thanksgiving. I couldn't be more thankful for my family and the memories we continue to make. Life is good.
